Adrenaline Injection Is a life saving emergency medication administered initially for adrenalin shot emergency management of allergic reactions and sudden cardiac arrest. It is also called Epinephrine/adrenalin injection. It is a hormone that is produced naturally by the body but also for immediate situations when direct injection of the hormone is not possible, our Adrenaline injection made with quality assured ingredients is used. Hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, emergency units, at the scene and in the ambulance, Adrenaline injection from Protech Telelinks is safe and effective.
One mL contains: Adrenaline (Epinephrine) IP 1 mg (1:1000). A sterile, colourless, clear solution for injection provided in a convenient to use ampoule.
Adrenaline works on alpha and beta adrenergic receptors in the body. It causes narrowing of blood vessels, increase in blood pressure and increases in both the heart rate and force of cardiac muscle contraction. It relaxes the smooth muscle in the bronchi, reversing the bronchospasm, and inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells, helping to reduce airway swelling, hives, and obstruction, and increasing blood pressure during anaphylaxis. Its action is very rapid, which is why it is a first-line treatment for anaphylaxis.
Adrenaline Injection should only be given by or under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner. The medicine can cause side effects like palpitations, anxiety, tremor, headache, sweating and increase in blood pressure. This medicine should be used with caution in patients with heart disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism or diabetes. The doctor should be informed about all other medicines used.
Use cautiously when treating women who are pregnant or nursing and in elderly or patients with kidney disease; adrenaline should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk, as determined by the patient’s physician. There are no absolute contraindications in a true emergency such as anaphylactic reaction and the treatment should not be delayed. Use the physician approved route and dose.
Store below 25C in a cool and dry place. Protect from light. Do not freeze. Discolouration of the solution and the presence of particles are indications of deterioration. Keep away from children.
